Custom Photography vs. Deparment Store Studios

Why you can't compare the price or experience between custom photography and a department store studios (such as JC Penny's or Walmart). The fact is these types of studios make their money on volume, which means they cheapen their price and value as they are looking for a sale based on quantity. In the end they use these studios to get you in their stores so that you could spend more money on their other goods that you probably didn't really need, but since your were there anyway you end up buying. As for your experience there is no personal relationship built since you are only a quick time slot in their schedule, of which you are more than likely to get a different photographer each time. With a few clicks you simply say cheese, and then you're done! Not to mention there is sometimes the pressure of buying their packages.

There is more time invested with not only me getting to know you but with capturing the perfect pictures of which you will cherish. Having more time also allows a child to warm up to me and gives me a great opportunity to capture some candid shots. You will be able to choose your location, even if you would like me to come to your home. This creates a more meaningful picture as it allows you to be in your surroundings, giving a more comfortable atmosphere, especially for kids so they are relaxed and more likely to cooperate. I will never pressure you to buy anything more than what you want. And best of all you know you will always have me as your photographer every time you come back!





Not everyone is looking for the experience you would get with custom photography and there is nothing wrong with going to a department store studio. It works for some people and they are happy with that. But if you are looking for more than just a say "Cheese" experience and would like to have more meaningful pictures then custom photography is what you want.
